Fun-A-Day is a way to stay creative and motivate each other to make things in the new year.
Traditionally Fun-A-Day starts in the new year running the full month of January. We know that many past participants have already begun their Fun-A-Day projects and we want you to join them starting on January 15th. We believe a delayed Fun-A-Day is better than No Fun-A-Day at all.

The rules are simple:
- Make something every day for one month. 31 pieces in total.
- Email your participation to contact@thisisaway.org by January 15th.
- The shows are unjuried and all accepting of every submission from all ages.
- You are free to participate as long as the work is non-commercial.

Fun-A-Day Drop Off Instructions
I, Aryon Hopkins, will be available for a drop offs at the South Valley Economic Development Center between 9 and 5pm from February 17th to 21st. Please contact me by email or phone to confirm the drop off.
My Experience With Fun-A-Day
I watched Fun-A-Day begin in Philadelphia in 2004 and every year the annual show grew larger and now involves participants in over 10 cities.
Everyone hosts Fun-A-Day a bit differently depending on their community. Last year Fun-A-Day was held at Sprout 2 presenters The Tan’s gallery. When we heard that The Tan was unable to host the event this year we decided to keep the fun alive in 2014. The problem is that we forgot to invite everyone to the party!
My Private Mañana
I have actually never participated in a Fun-A-Day. My excuse in Philly was that I was too busy parading and recovering from the Mummer’s Parade that is held every New Year’s Day. Since moving to Burque, I made an attempt at participating in Fun-A-Day 2013 and failed after 5 hurried half attempts of painting suns. One week into 2014 and I failed at both promoting the event and making any art. Maybe I am becoming a true mañana New Mexican…
